![]() Back in the day I used CD Architect and even back then it was pretty decent so I was really hoping that something similar would exist inside SF 10. Sound Forge 10 could've been great if they would have incorporated CD layout and red book options but so far it's just a 2-track editor. Right now my vote would have to go to Wavelab 7 overall, but I still think something better could come along and easily be the best mastering DAW for OSX, it seems that it wouldn't be hard in theory. If I was opening a new studio today, it would be based around a Windows machine and Sequoia. Unfortunately, any MacOS DAW you use for mastering is going to have a few glaring flaws (though maybe Wavelab is the holy grail). ![]() Sequoia lacks the depth of Pyramix, but is fast and clean and has the best plugin handling going. Pyramix has a very steep learning curve and wonky plugin handling, but is insanely deep. The two best mastering DAWs at the moment are Sequoia and Pyramix, and both are windows only. Wavelab I don't know well, I need to demo it because I'm very disappointed with everything else. ![]() Wave Editor (soon to be Triumph) does everything right, but the workflow is astoundingly weak. (Great if you do all your work outside the box, though.) DSP-Quattro is promising, but still a bit rough (and malforms DDP CD-TEXT data). soundBlade has very good workflow and editing, but the plugin handling is really lame. ![]() As much as it pains me to say it, there is not a great mastering DAW on the Mac right now. ![]()
